Rudy Ricciotti
Materiality, Poesy, Passion
The Rudy Ricciotti work distinguishes itself as much by its plastic strength as by its technical dimension.
This double approach seems to be, tinged with radicality, from creation of Vitrolles Stadium, in a landscape of bauxite in the beginning of 1990. This line asserts itself in two decades which are going to follow by the structural expression (Choreographic national center Preljocaj in Aix-en-Provence, MuCEM de Marseille) like in the implemented materiality (villa Navarra, Museum Cocteau in Menton, headquarters of ITER in Cadarache). In parallel to his symbolic masterpieces, Rudy Ricciotti maintains a special relationship with the modern heritage like the Philharmonic of Potsdam to Grands Moulins of Paris, big concrete giants that he is attached to save from destruction to make the Paris VII university.
A man
Rudy Ricciotti is a French architect born in 1952. Architect and engineer, he associates "strength of creation and true construction culture".
His projects are marked of politic, technic, poesy, culture and materiality. He is the man of "doing" (the construction) and the material (the concrete); his projects make a constant tribute to specific knowledges, which of engineers first and then numerous and precious of the workers.

Some words
« The architectural adventure is before a political adventure with multiple facets - theoretical, social, esthetic-, closely imbricated to arm the work of the architect. It is a culture of fighting that does not aim consensus. »
" Architecture is a sport combat "
" The concrete value is to sublime generosity and its energy to transcend vulgarity "
" The past has to teach us a lot, it is necessary to protect it and to renegotiate it. The amnesia is a contemporary disease. "
