Ricardo Bofill


A man

Born in Barcelona in 1939, he studied to the architecture school of his hometown and to the the Geneva university. He conceived his first house at 19 years old. Before giving his entire life to architecture, he made a trip in cinema world and made 2 movies and few short stories. In 1964, he made the Atelier d’architecture (then he moved it to Paris and NYC), that he could learn from experiences in the urban design and architecture and also in garden design, park and interior. His urbanist work, specially outstanding, gave form to projects like the Europe place in Luxembourg and the extension of Paseo de la Castellana in Madrid. He was the autor of many theoric books like « la ciudad del arquitecto ».
